In 2019 the CCG led a formal consultation to seek the views of patients and the public on the plans for the Integrated Dunstable Health and Care Hub which included the potential relocation of three GP practices West Street Surgery, Priory Gardens Surgery and Kirby Road Surgery.
The feedback from the consultation has been used in the development of the plans for the Hub. The Hub which is a joint project, led by Central Bedfordshire Council, received planning approval in 2020 and will be developed alongside new residential accommodation for older people. The CCG has been working with providers and Primary Care Networks to confirm which services will relocate to the Hub, the partners at West Street Surgery have confirmed they will not be relocating to the new facility at this time.
As part of the Chiltern Hills Primary Care network, patients of West Street Surgery will have access to the integrated services that will operate from the new Health and Care Hub which will include adult and children’s community, mental health and social care services, all in a building designed to facilitate joined-up working and to promote community involvement and wider wellbeing.
