West street surgery Newsletter October 2017
Welcome to our second Newsletter.
Our first publication dated July 2017appears to have been well received, however direct feedback would be greatly appreciated. This can be done in several ways you can speak to our Practise Manager ,reception staff or write your comments and leave at the reception desk. Or why not join us and become a member of West street surgery Patient Participation Group (PPG ). Becoming a member enables you to become actively involved in issues affecting your surgery. Making stronger the relationship between patients and their practises.
The purpose of the group is to discuss about the services offered by the practice and any improvements to be made.
I would encourage anyone who has an interest in their local community to come and join us. We meet 4 times a year and are a voluntary organisation; the minutes of our meetings are on the surgery web site.
Among other things you will get an insight into the many agencies that form the NHS and the impact it has on you the service user.
We are a member of the National Association for Patient Participation (NAPP ) the only UK-wide umbrella body for patient led groups within general practises. NAPP is an independent led charity with over 35 years experience in supporting Patient Participation Groups.
We as a group receive a monthly bulletin from NAPP highlighting issues and directing us to a more comprehensive explanation. These bulletins are always an agenda item at our meetings. The NAPP webb site is available to actively involved members.
All PPG members receive an induction Pack which contains a confidentiality agreement.
If you are interested in any of the above and wish to find out more please do not hesitate to speak to reception staff who will forward your enquiry to our Project Manager.
